Smt. M.K.Jayamma & Sri. B.S.R. Sastry Trust
in collaboration with Sumukhaya Trust and Prayoga had arranged a three day
visit to Sargur center of Swamy Vivekananda Youth Movement on 27th-29th of
October 2017. During this occasion, gruhapravesha of a residential block
of eight houses was performed.
On 27th of November, the
two workshop was started for children of Viveka School of Excellence at Sargur. Sessions on experiential education covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Teachers from Prayoga, conducted the sessions. About 100 students of Viveka School of Excellence and other
schools in and around Sargur attended the one day workshop.
Additionally, about 25 students from Samyukta also participated in the one day
workshop. Nine teachers from Prayoga, six teachers from Viveka School of
Excellence and six trainee teachers attended the workshop. On 28th
October, 2017, in the valedectory function, Smt. Geeta Ravichandran, Principal
Commissioner Income Tax (Central), Bangalore, Prof. H. S. Nagaraja, Managing Trustee,
Prayoga, were present. Speaking on the occassion, Smt. Geeta
Ravindran said that Children should develop belief that they would succeed
while working hard towards achieving their goals. An individual who
succeeds brings change not only at individual level, but also transforms
his/her family, community and nation. The teachers of Prayoga were
presented with mementoes.
On 28th evening, a musical night was organized in
the open auditorium of Viveka School of Excellence. A musical concert by Smt.
Sindhu and renowned carnatic musician Vid. Vinay Sharva was organized.
Vid. Adithya was on violin, Vid. Radhesh was on mrudangam and Vid. Manjunath was on Ghatam. Preceding to the concert, a classical
Bharatanatyam dance was performed by school children. Sri. B. R. Ravi,
Trustee of Smt. MK Jayamma and Sri. BSR Sastry Trust and Sri.Veereshananda
Saraswathi Swamiji of Tumkur Ramakrishna Mutt spoke on the occassion. Sri
Veereshananda Saraswathi Swamiji stressed the significance of music composers
of carnatic music and suggested that singers should understand, meditate on the
contents of their compositions while singing. The artists were introduced
by Sri. B.R.Ravi and felicitated by Sri. Veereshananda Saraswathi Swamiji.
On 29th Morning, grihapravesha (house warming
ceremony) of eight newly built houses at residential quarters of Sargur
was performed. The houses were donated by Smt. M.K.Jayamma & Sri.
B.S.R. Sastry Trust in collaboration with Sumukhaya Trust. Sri. Veereshananda
Saraswathi Swamiji, Smt.and Sri. Kush Desai, Smt. Lalitha Sastrty, Sri. H. S.
Nagaraja, Smt. Anuradha and Sri. M.K.Ramachandra Sastry, Sri. M.K.Lakshamana
Sastry inaugurated the houses and ritual of 'heating up the milk till boiling' to usher in prosperity was performed. A function was
organized at the open auditorium of Viveka School of Excellence to mark the
occasion. Sri. Veereshananda Saraswathi Swamiji, President, Sri.
Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumakuru, Smt. Geeta Ravichandran,
Principal Commissioner Income Tax (Central), Bangalore, Prof. H. S. Nagaraja, Managing
Trustee, Prayoga, Dr. M. A. Balasubramanya, Secretary & CEO, Swami
Vivekananda Youth Movement., Sri. B. R. Ravi, Prof. M.K.Ramachandra Satry, Rtd.
HOD, Dept. of Mathematics, Sharada Vilas College, Mysuru, Sri. M. K.
Lakshmana Sastry, Rtd. Headmaster, National High school, Bengaluru, were
present on the dais. Sri. Veereshananda Saraswathi Swamiji gave a speech
inspiring to the teachers. He observed that teachers are loosing confidence in
the system and noted that it is not a good sign. He called upon teachers not to
loose confidence and feel proud about their profession. Swamiji was also
appreciative of donating the houses in memory of family-elders of
donors. Sri B. R. Ravi & Sri. B. R. Nagaraj, Smt. & Sri. Kush
Desai, Prof. H. S. Nagaraja were felicitated by SVYM on this occassion.
