ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಏಳ್ಗೆ ಬಯಸಿ ಆ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯತತ್ಪರವಾಗಿರುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಣೀಯವೂ ಹೌದು ಮತ್ತು ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ಗುರುತೂ ಸಹ ಹೌದು. 

ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಎಂ. ಕೆ. ಜಯಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ. ಬಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ದತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ದತ್ತಿ (ಉದ್ಯಮ್) ಗಳು ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರಾಗಬೇಕೆನ್ನುವ ಕನಸನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಾಯವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ವಹಿಸಲು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಿದರೆ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆಯ ಒಡನಾಟ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಜಾಗೃತಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. 

ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಎಂ. ಕೆ. ಜಯಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ. ಬಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ದತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಅರ್ಹತೆಯ ಮಾನದಂಡದಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತರಗತಿ / ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗೆ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾದರಿ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದರ ಗುರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಎಂ. ಕೆ. ಜಯಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ. ಬಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ದತ್ತಿಯ ಒಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ – ಈ ಪರಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯತತ್ಪರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ದತ್ತಿಯ ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಶ್ರೀ. ಬಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರೇ – ಹೊರಗಿನ ಅಥವಾ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೇ – ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು. ದತ್ತಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಆಡಳಿತ, ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ವಿಧಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 400 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ದತ್ತಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೇ, ಹಲವಾರು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ದತ್ತಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸಿದೆ. ಮಾಲೂರಿನ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆ, ಸರಗೂರಿನ ವಿವೇಕ ಶಾಲೆ, ಹೊಸಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಶಾಲೆ, ಸೋ-ಕೇರ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ, ವೇದ ನಾದ ಗುರುಕುಲ, ನೆಲೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ, ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಮ್ಯೂಸಿಕ್ ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಧನ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ದತ್ತಿ ಒದಗಿಸಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ, ದತ್ತಿಯು ಸುಮಾರು 20 ಜನ ಸಮಾಜ ಮುಖೀ ಗಣ್ಯರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಇತರ ಸಮಾನ ಮನಸ್ಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಹಿತಕ್ಕೆ ದತ್ತಿ ತನ್ನ ಬದ್ಧತೆ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಒಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ದತ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಮಾನ ಮನಸ್ಕ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರಾರಿಂದ 2011 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಸ್ಕಾಲರ್ (ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ) ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ದತ್ತಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 30 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ – ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದು, 9 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಇಂಜಿನೀರಿಂಗ್, ಒಬ್ಬರು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸಿಪಿಟಿ (ಸಿ‌ಏ ಮಾಡಲು ಪಾಸಾಗಬೇಕಾದ ಅರ್ಹತಾ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ) ಮತ್ತು ಇತರರು ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಕಂದರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದೆ. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು, ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ತರಗತಿಗಳು, ಅಂಡ್ರಾಯ್ಡ್ ಅಪ್ಲಿಕೇಷನ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು – ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಲವಾರು ಶಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಲಿಟೆಕ್ನಿಕ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯಮ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದೆ.

The Collective

It is only imperative that two organizations working for the common good of the society at large collaborate with one another to identify merited students, nurture them by inculcating social consciousness and leadership qualities. 

Smt. M. K. Jayamma & Sri. B. S. R. Sastry Trust and Udyam Public Charitable Trust (Udyam), are engaged in providing scholarships and mentoring students who have dreams of becoming professionals in various fields.  While scholarships incentivise students to strive towards excellence, interaction with social organizations would help them to imbibe social outlook. 

Smt. M. K. Jayamma & Sri. B. S. R. Sastry Trust and Udyam select students having consistent academic performance for extending and continuance of support.  The scholarship programme is an endeavor to present role models and new perspectives to the students. 

Many of the students who have received scholarships in the last five years are pursuing higher education in the Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Medicine, Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, Company Secretaryship, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences.  The objectives of Smt. M. K. Jayamma & Sri. B. S. R. Sastry Trust and Udyam are being implemented in an effective manner.

Smt. M. K. Jayamma & Sri. B. S. R. Sastry Trust is a public charitable trust committed to universal values.  The trust has objective of working in Educational, Health, vocational and cultural spheres.  The uniqueness of the trust is that it is completely funded by family members of Sri. B. S. R. Udyam Public Charitable Trust (Udyam) is a public charitable trust, started in 2011 by likeminded professionals who have excelled in diverse fields such as medicine, space, business, industry and corporate sectors.  Udyam is successfully managing a “Udyam Scholar” program for the last 5 years through which 30 students are being supported. Udyam scholars have excelled in higher education with 9 students pursuing engineering, one student pursuing medicine, 2 students have qualified the CPT (qualifying examination for pursuing CA) and other students are in Pre-University course.

Apart from scholarship program, Udyam has started several initiatives to narrow the digital divide by providing state of the art computer labs, Digital Classrooms, Android App Development Lab and science labs at various schools and polytechnics in and around Bangalore.

Hosahalli - Saragur Visit - 2016

A 40 member team from Smt. M. K. Jayamma and Sri. B. S. R. Sastry Trust visited SVYM facilities at Hosahalli and Sargur on June 11-12, 2016.  The following programmes were conducted during the visit.

1. Day long Science symposium for teachers and students of Viveka School of Excellence at Sargur on 11th June.
2. A carnatic music concert by Vidwan Vinay Sharva in the evening at Sargur in the evening of 11th June. 
3.  Inaguraration of two houses at Hosahalli constructed for teachers tribal school on 12th June
4. Interaction with school children of Tribal school at Hosahalli and Viveka School of Excellence at Sargur.
5. Visit to Leadership Insitute at Mysore and Hospital of Kenchenahalli

Former Director General of Police Dr. S. T. Ramesh, Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi, President of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashrama of Tumkur, Dr. M. K. L. N. Sastry, Former Principal of UVCE were present in the visit.  Trustees, Volunteers and family members were also part of the team.

Student Scholarship Programme - 2015

Smt. M. K. Jayamma and Sri. B. S. R. Sastry Trust awarded scholarships to  students  on Sudnay, 12th April 2015 at Yavanika, Bangalore. The selection criteria for selection of the students  was  previous academic performance of the students and their financial need.   Students pursuing PUC, graduation, technical courses such as diploma, engineering and medicine were  given scholarships. The selection was made from about more than 1000 applications which were received in response to advertisements in leading news papers. More than 100 students were given scholarship in the function. 

The programme was presided by Swami Veereshananda Swamiji.  Union Minister Sri. H. N. Ananathkumar, Google Vice President David Radcliffe, Fomer Chief Justice of India, Dr. M. N. Venkatachala, and Dr. M. K. L. N. Sastry  were chief guests of the programme.  Shri.  B. R. Nagaraj gave an introduction to the aims and objectives of the trust.  The programme was compered by Smt. Sandhya.  Shri.  B. R. Ravi introduced the guests to the audience and provided details of the social activities undertaken by the trust.   Invocation was by Dr. Sindhu. Shri. Srinath gave vote of thanks. 

In the programme, many eminent personalities who contributed to the society were felicitated.  Carnatic Music exponent Vidwan D. V. Nagarajan, Income tax commissioner Smt. Geeta Ravichandran,  Team members of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement  - Dr. R. Balasubramaiyam, Dr. Bindu Balasubramaniam, Dr. M. R. Seethaaram, Dr. Sridevi Seetharam, D. M. A. Balasubramanya, Dr. T. J. Padmaja, and H. D. Malathi - were felicitated.

"Education is not meant for a luxurious lifestyle - it is for a beautiful life. Education would make our life beautiful by inculcating rationalism and eternal values. But, educated are misled by pursuing luxury and material comfort through education.  A village teenager who has studied only till fourth standard, would exhibit values when he rescues those were drowning in river floods.  In another example, a gold medallist in computer engineering would turn to terrorism and continues to kill people.  Considering these two real life examples, need for educating values along with knowledge based education is being felt"

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ‘ಐಷಾರಾಮಿ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಬದುಕಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ’ ಎಂದು  ತುಮಕೂರು ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಆಶ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ವೀರೇಶಾನಂದ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ  ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಎಂ.ಕೆ. ಜಯಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ.ಎಸ್‌.ಆರ್‌. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನಿಂದ  ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ  ಶಿಷ್ಯ ವೇತನ ವಿತರಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯ ವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.

‘ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಚಾರಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ, ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿ ಬದುಕು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ನಾವು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಐಷಾರಾಮಿ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಂದು ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ಭಾವಿಸಿ ವಾಮ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ’ ಎಂದರು. ‘ಕೇವಲ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ತರಗತಿವರೆಗೆ ಓದಿದ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಹೈದ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಉಳಿಸಿ ಮಾನವೀಯತೆ ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಮತ್ತೊಂದೆಡೆ, ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್‌ ಸೈನ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಪದಕ ಗಳಿಸಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಉಗ್ರನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.  ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಎರಡೂ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು, ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬೆಳೆಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಡಾ. ಎಂ.ಕೆ.ಎಲ್‌.ಎನ್‌. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದರು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಎಂ.ಕೆ.ಜಯಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್‌. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ ವತಿ­ಯಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶೇ 80ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಪಿಯುಸಿ, ಡಿಪ್ಲೊಮಾ, ಆಯುರ್ವೇದ, ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ, ವೈದ್ಯ­ಕೀಯ, ಕಾನೂನು, ದಂತ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ, ಪಶು­­ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ  ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ­ಗಳು  ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್‌ ಮೂಲಕ ಫೆ. 28ರ ಒಳಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ವಿತರಣೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ 12ರಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ‘ಯವನಿಕಾ’ ಸಭಾಂಗಣ­ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.

Class Room Dedicated to Viveka School of Excellence

Smt M. K. Jayamma and Sri. B.S.R. Sastry  Trust in academic collaboration with BASE, Bengaluru had recently organized several programmes at Viveka School of Excellence in Saragur on Saturday, 3rd January 2015. The school is managed by Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), HD Kote of Mysore district .  The programmes were  organized during a two day visit to the facilities of SVYM in Sargur, Kenchenahalli and Hosahalli on 3rd and 4th of January 2015.

The first programme ‘Scientific Session’ was conducted by expert teachers of BASE, Bangalore and was guided by Dr. H.S.Nagaraja, founder - director BASE. Sri. H.S.Sastry, renowned mathematics teacher, Dr. S. S. Srikanta – Diabetologist, Prof. S. Sundarrajan, retired Professor of Mathematics, Vidwan D. V. Nagarajan – renowned Carnatic vocalist and Music teacher, Dr. Seetharam of SVYM, Sri. B. R. Ravi, and Sri. B. R. Nagaraj – trustees of Smt M. K. Jayamma and Sri. B.S.R. Sastry Trust were present during the inauguration of the Scientific Session.  Ten teachers of BASE conducted about 12 sessions in various science streams to the students of Viveka School of Excellence. 

In the afternoon,  a class room sponsored by Smt M. K. Jayamma and Sri. B.S.R. Sastry Trust at the Viveka School of Excellence  was inaugurated.  Dr. M. R. Seetharam of SVYM spoke on the occasion.  A Carnatic vocal concert was  organized in the evening between 6pm – 8.30pm. Karnataka Kalaratna Vidwan D. V. Nagarajan was accompanied by Sri. Ramanathan on the violin and Sri. Suhas on the Mridangam.

A visit was made to Kenchenahalli hospital and tribal school of Hosahalli on 4th January 2015. A debriefing session was held in Hosahalli and it was discussed as to how the tribal culture could be preserved yet develop the area to provide gainful employment and increase educational avenues to the local community. It was decided to form a group known as  ‘Viveka Seva Dal (VSD)’  co-ordinated by Smt M. K. Jayamma and Sri. B.S.R. Sastry Trust  for supporting initiatives of SVYM with Sri. B. R. Ravi set to spearhead the project.  

About Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM)

SVYM, a social initiative taken up by a group of young medical professionals in remote forest areas of Mysore district about 30 years ago.Today,SVYM has brought about a positive change in 400, 000 patients which includes tribals of H D Kote and neighboring areas of Hunsur, Nanjangud & Gundulpet taluk.SVYM educational institutions are reaching out to 30, 000 children annually. Socio and Economic empowerment programmes of SVYM is reaching  2,75,000 people of H D Kote taluk including 17,000 of tribals of H.D.Kote and adjoining areas. SVYM is also actively engaged in Training, Research, Advocacy & Consultancy activities related to tribal and other underprivileged populations.

‘ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಕಲಿಸುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಅಗತ್ಯ'

ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ­ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಯೋಗ್ಯತಾಪತ್ರ ನೀಡಲು ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ತುಮಕೂರಿನ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠದ ವೀರೇಶಾನಂದ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.  ಬಿಎಸ್‌ಆರ್‌ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ ನಗರದ ಮಿಥಿಕ್‌ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ವಿತರಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ‘ನೈತಿಕ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆಸದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ­ದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಾತೃ, ಮಾತೃ­ಭೂಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ­ಯನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮರೆಯಬಾರದು. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳ ಪಾಠ ಸಿಗಬೇಕು. ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿಜವಾದ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಪಡೆಯು­ವಂಥ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಆಳುವ ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ­ದವರು ಸದ್ಯ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ’ ಎಂದರು.

ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಎಂ.ಎನ್‌.­ವೆಂಕಟಾಚಲಯ್ಯ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಮೌಲ್ಯ­ವಿಲ್ಲದ ಪಾಂಡಿತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ­ವಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದರು. ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಡಿಜಿಪಿ ಡಾ.ಎಸ್‌.ಟಿ.­ರಮೇಶ್‌ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾನೂ­ನನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಪಡೆ­ದಂತೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹೊರ­ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದ­ರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾರಂಪರಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯ­ಗಳು ಸಮಾಜದಿಂದ ಮರೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ’ ಎಂದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದಮ್ಯ ಚೇತನ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಡಾ.ತೇಜಸ್ವಿನಿ ಅನಂತ­ಕುಮಾರ್‌, ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್‌ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥ ಡಾ.ವೈ.ನರಹರಿ, ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಬಿ.ಎನ್‌.ರಾಜಶೇಖರ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಜೀವಿನಿ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಡಾ.ಎಸ್‌.ಶ್ರೀಕಂಠ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

‘ಇಂದಿನ ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕ ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಾಧನೆ­ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿರುವ ಯುವ ಜನತೆ ಸಾಂಘಿಕ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಬೇಕು. ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಗೌರವ’ ಎಂದು ತೇಜಸ್ವಿನಿ ಅನಂತಕುಮಾರ್‌ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ವೈ.ನರಹರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ­ಗಳು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ, ಸಮಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೊರದೇಶಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡುವ ಅಗತ್ಯ­ವಿಲ್ಲ. ನಚಿಕೇತ, ಭೃಗು, ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾ­ನಂದರನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ­ಗಳು ಆದರ್ಶವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕೋರ್ಸ್‌­ಗಳ 82 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟು ₨ 7 ಲಕ್ಷ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ವಿತರಿಸ­ಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ­ಗಳಾದ ಬಿ.ಆರ್‌.ನಾಗರಾಜ್‌, ಬಿ.ಆರ್‌.­ರವಿ ಮತ್ತಿತರರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
